I’m at In -N-Out now and I think Whataburger is better.

We also need a Culver's, Chuy's, and Steak n' Shake

Chuy's would do well in the right location. The food isn't great, but the atmosphere is good for families. Would probably print money in Prairieville, St. George, Juban Crossing, or the north shore. Maybe even Siegen or Bluebonnet. At least until Lupe Tortilla moves into Louisiana....then people will forget that Chuy's ever existed. I don't think Lupe has a location east of Beaumont yet.

There's a Culver's near me in Chicago, and I absolutely hate it. It's only popular in the midwest - it would be considered very bland by southern standards and lame AF in south Louisiana. Louisiana isn't suburban Wisconsin or Illinois where a restaurant chain can get away with bland food if they have decent root beer and a clean dining room. Culver's would fail miserably in Baton Rouge because their food is bland and more expensive than almost all of the competition down there.

Steak n' Shake from 10 years ago might do well in south Louisiana if they can find locations near I-10, but they all seem empty and poorly run now. The whole chain seems to be struggling in a huge way. I think they are shutting locations down, not expanding.

What I think will be really successful in southern Louisiana:

Chick Fil A and Whataburger could both sell a lot more food in south Louisiana if they were more aggressive with their expansions.

In n' Out would probably be extremely popular in the right locations even though it's not my favorite.

Jenni's Ice Cream and Crumbl Cookies would certainly do well near Lakeside, LSU, Tulane, or the Mall of LA.

I think that's a less than ideal location. I really dislike Bluebonnet unless it's after 6:30.

I'm not a barrister. I also didn't say it was "great". I said that it wasn't "gross", and that it's better than Five Guys.

This. There’s one right down the street from me in Buckhead. Never understood the appeal and it attracts a certain clientele to boot.

There’s one walking distance from my office building. I’ll have it time to time, but it’s not my first choice. It’s expensive for what it is.

A shake shack burger is $8 and an in n out burger is $3.

Compare in n out to other $3 burgers.

People only want Culver’s because they don’t have it. Same with Freddy’s.

Nothing special at all.

You’re not wrong. Shake shack is waaaaaaay overrated. That’s what marketing does for you.
