Work is underway on Baton Rouge's first Shake Shack. The burger chain with roots in the New York fine dining scene is set to open a freestanding restaurant in early 2023 at the Mall of Louisiana. The restaurant will be between Longhorn Steakhouse and Peregrin's (formerly Pier 1 Imports). Shake Shack is known for its all-natural Angus beef burgers. Beyond the so-called “Shackburgers,” the fast-casual restaurant’s menu includes chicken sandwiches, flat-top-grilled hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries and frozen custards.

For some reason I would have guessed BR already had a shake shack.

It is a good burger. It is just very overrated and is the Starbucks of burger chains in its sycophants. THe fries are bottom tier as well.

Before long, there will be multiple (like all chain restaurants in BR)

I will say of all the trendy fast food burger places I've tried, Shake Shack is near the bottom

Would take Whataburger, Five Guys, In N Out, and Culvers over Shake Shack.

This. There’s one right down the street from me in Buckhead. Never understood the appeal and it attracts a certain clientele to boot.

In n Out is damn good - Animal Fries FTW. Shake Shack is a bit better though.

Jack in the Box is the other California chain that is strangely popular in Louisiana, but gets dominated by Whataburger and In n Out everywhere else.

I haven't had the others, but no way is Five Guys better than Shake Shack.

Fries are better at Five Guys.
