Recently discovered that I have been living a lie for the last 25 years and that i love brussels sprouts.

I just picked some up form the store. Any suggestions or tips for flavoring or preparing them?

TIA

I do olive oil, salt, and pepper. Simple is often best.

Cook in duck fat. Deglaze with apple cider vinegar. S+p to taste

I just preheated the oven to 400. Tossed them in OO S& P and threw in a few chopped up pieces of bacon.

Pretty excited about this.

Bacon is the only way that I can tolerate Brussels sprouts, and I eat virtually anything and everything.

I used to have them a lot.. just saute in butter with salt and pepper with the lid on. I also steamed them and added butter, salt and pepper. But wife doesn't like them so it's not worth cooking for one.
Might try it again and tell her they are magical mini cabbages.

Cube up some pancetta and then put the sprouts in for a bit and finish up in the oven.

We just finished them up. They were awesome.

Thanks all, next time I am going to throw some bleu cheese on top at the end and see how that goes with the bacon.

I'm assuming they were fresh and not frozen?

It's a tiny cabbage. Treat it as such. Salt, pepper, and some sort of seasoning pork(bacon, smoked hock, etc.). It can also be braised, saute'd, steamed, etc.

Dice bacon (brown and render). Halve the sprouts and cook in bacon drippings till carmelized. Remove and season with kosher salt and cracked black pepper. Sprinkle bacon over top and serve.

Grill them next time. Same seasoning, but get them kinda carmalized.
