Been to the Saltgrass in San Antonio a couple times. Found the filet really good. Went to Ruth’s Chris in Metairie last week. Was no better than Saltgrass and more than 2x the price. Totally not worth it to me.

I had a salesman take me to Saltgrass at the Golden Nugget instead of Vic & Anthony’s which I specifically asked for.......he didn’t get any business

Maybe it’s been bad luck, but I’m done. I’ve been a couple of times and both times my steak was so cold the clump of butter they put on top doesn’t even start to melt.

I’m not sure how you get a char on a steak, yet the steak isn’t hot. I can only assume they precook them. But my experience has been worse at Saltgrass then other chains such as Texas Roadhouse and Longhorns. Plus, it’s a little more expensive than those two.

Been once, about like the other chains you mentioned. No desire to go back.

It is noisy and the food is above average. the atmosphere is tables crammed together and noisy, which conducive to a restaurant who wants to turn tables quickly, so don’t expect stellar service or time to enjoy a nice meal with your friends and family

The parking lot on Christmas Day in Lafayette is absolutely jammed. One of the few decent places open on that holiday.

Saltgrass is a salt bomb of mediocre food. Avoid.

Disappointed me. Not necessarily bad or good. Both times I went. Service however could have been better.

worked at the Outback in Lafayette during the early to mid 2000s and thought it was the best chain restaurant around. We went there recently for nostalgic purposes and the place is now just like any other chain. The quality and portions are not what they used to be. Completely mediocre.

I agree. That location has fallen off a lot since then

Texas Roadhouse is the best of that lot

I dont know how they cook their steaks or what they do to them, but their Nee York Strip is consistently the best steak I eat on a monthly basis. They could be marinating it in rat piss for all I care because of how good it tastes.

I like Texas Roadhouse better but salt grass isn’t that far off. I also eat at Logan’s and outback. Of these 4 I put outback last. Just my personal preference.

I've eaten at SG three times over the past 3 years and left disappointed each time. Also ate once at Joe's Crab Shack recently and was at that point vowed to never eat at any Landry's establishment again.

Both places expensive for what you get and both quality and quantity are lacking.
