How is it? How does it compare to other chain steak houses like Outback, Texas Roadhouse, etc.?

Never had a steak there, but their lunch tacos are good as is their Mac n cheese.

It compares nicely. It’s basically the same thing. I’ve eaten at the one on the Boardwalk a few times.

It's essentially the Morton's version of Outback. I assume they are as comparable as Morton's and Flemings.

I've eaten at that one and one in San Antonio on business trips. It's your average middle of the road chain steakhouse. Nothing spectacular but not bad either.

What's the point of having so many in one area like Covington along the I-12? Long Horn, Texas Roadhouse and soon, Saltgrass within a mile of each other.

They built one in BR right across the street from Outback. I guess they are popular.

I'll usually just go get a prime ribeye from Calandro's and cook it myself over going to one of those places.

meh, it's serviceable like all the rest. Texas Roadhouse is the best of that lot (basing this solely off the Lafayette location which is incredibly well-run).

the only one that I have been consistently embarrassed for is Longhorn. God awful

It hurts that I have to upvote Carson, but he is correct here.

I agree about Longhorn, it is abysmal.

I checked out their menu online. As far as the prices....I'll pay a little extra and go to Ruth's Chris or Gallagher's. I'd enjoy it a lot more.

I think I was misunderstood here. Morton’s parent company owns Saltgrass. Fleming’s parent company owns Outback.

Morton’s ~ Fleming’s as Saltgrass ~ Outback.

Sorry, didn't realize that. Makes sense. Think I'll stick with the Flemmings/Outback.

Business and competition.

It's easily an hour wait at Texas Roadhouse on weekend nights, so if you add another steak house that is of similar quality then some of those that dont want to wait an hour+ for a table will go to the next one

I love TR, those rolls and butter with the bone in ribeye is great for the price.

But I mostly go for the rolls. If I want a steak I would rather just cook one like Fallguy suggested.
