Salt Lick Austin BBQ Sauces

In Austin, I see they sell bbq sauces at Randall’s. Any worth picking up before I head back to bawville (Youngsville).

Best all around classic red but you have to stop at Rudy's. They sell it on the convenience store side. Don't fall into the trap of buying brisket there though. Sausage and potato salad are great.

I have a few bottles of Rudy's sause in the house. It's good. Their "moist" brisket is not bad and better than 98% of what I can get in Louisiana.

Agree. Moist brisket, sausage, sauce, and creamed corn are the only things I want from Rudy’s.

The original Salt like sauce is my finish paint, doesn’t add a lot of taste but it makes a great shinny glase that makes things taste better. Good on Ribs, chops and chicken, this is a secret step.

Their original is best. It’s a dipping sauce for bbq, not really meant to glaze a meat. However it works decently on chicken

Salt Lick's spicy sauce is awesome.
Rudy's sauce is ok.
Franklin sells his sauce now. I like his vinegar style sauce - it's the only one i've tried.
And as far as rudy's goes...your experience can vary depending on the location, but their Austin ones are all solid, especially for their price point. Is it the best? No. But if you are in a hurry, it serves its purpose well.

HEB Texas sauce is very similar to Rudy's.

I love the Salt Lick Spicy sauce, and I keep it on hand.
Plus, their potato salad is my favorite and they use that sauce in the recipe, so I can recreate it whenever I want.
