The two tacos and two sides plate is like $13 and the three tacos and one side plate is like $15, that's outrageous. Drink prices aren't unreasonable, but the amount they charge for tacos keeps me away.

It's a sit down restaurant. They bring you water and take your order. How much do you typically pay for tacos outside of Taco Bell? Either one of those plates listed is more than enough food for the majority of people.

They have gone up. I used to get the Mr. Biggs plate with four tacos, a side and a beef patty for $16. Looks like they jacked it to $19. But you get a shitload of food. And those are gourmet tacos -- you can get duck, lamb, shrimp, fried oysters, etc. not ground beef.

I guess they're referencing the BR location? BR has become such a bizarre place.

$2.50-$3 for tacos is reasonable, and since they use a little more quality products I can give them a pass for $3.50. Still 3 tacos and a couple fried plantains or a bowl of beans should not cost me $15, especially when they are a couple of shrimp or some pulled pork or beef.

Too be fair, I love Johnny Sanchez's but think their taco prices are outrageous also.

I don't know about BR, but in N.O. I like their other place, Red Dog, better than Rum House. Food's better and I've never waited for a seat.

Food costs are low? LOL.. I remember when a dime bag used to be $10.. Food cost is and has been rising, add in inflation and labor costs, you best believe they are going up on prices.

At Tacos and Beer, which isn't as good as Rum House but damn close, it would be 1/2 that price

To be fair, most people in BR see 5 black people in a place of business and it's immediately culcha'd to them

Seems to be the case. It's basically a hopeless self-fulfilling result.

Ding fricking ding.
Some dipshit on this site was griping about Bet-R, making it sound like it was deep in the hood. I don't go there that often because it's not convenient to where I live anymore -- but the last two times I've been in the store, Sen. Bill Cassidy was shopping.

Hit the nail on the head. And then they tell everyone they know. And then nobody goes there anymore. And then people wonder why BR can't attract and sustain more business.
