when Lucy's first opened they packed it in, not sure what happened but it died off. The bathroom there always had a weird smell to it.
Roux House is where I mainly frequented post-college year so sad to see it go but I don't go out downtown much anymore

Lucy's and Roux House are both nowhere near as packed as they were a few years ago before 3rd Street bar strip started spreading North.
I like the gastropub idea because it adds a happy hour place with food as viable option. Although, Driftwood Cask and Barrel (if they can ever just get that place open) may serve that same niche. Too many other places in the area have been skirting by too long without even trying putting out a simple food service.
Boudreaux and Thibideaux can't bet long for this world if they haven't died yet. I haven't seen any shows posted there on Red Stick Music in months, they haven't been open at all anytime I've walked past recently (granted, always before 9PM or so in my old age), and I walked by at lunch a few weeks ago and there was a delinquent tax notice posted on their door.

Lava Cantina gave me the runs like you wouldn't believe the last time I ate there.

Yeah that's a legit gripe. Plus you can't hear shite when you are inside and the band is playing

Couldn't agree more
It's amazing that people will flock to Lava to drink shitty margaritas and eat chips and queso

high-end cocktails
High-end is such a subjective, unoriginal and over-used term.

I'm not disagreeing with you. I know several Asian, black and Spanish women that feel the same way about chips and queso.

That's most tex mex places on the weekend here.
I'm amazed at the people that go to superior to spend an arm and a leg for food and drinks

They had keg tapped that the bartenders where pumping themselves, bathrooms weren't very clean and were understaffed.
this was about a month ago. Overall it wasnt terrible since he keg beer was $2 and in huge cups.

B&T's is looking for $400k for the business no property! Must be smoking something!!!!
Don't know the prices of all of Delgados bars but they all for sale.
Downtown sucks!
Good Luck!
