Couyon's in Port Allen.

All the meat is great.
Smoked meatloaf with mashed potatoes is awesome.
loaded potato casserole would be part of my last meal.

i order their catering anytime i need to for work, and i've never had anyone say it wasn't awesome.

Gumbo from Mohawk in Monroe
I agree, the gumbo at Mohawk is awesome, the best gumbo I’ve ever eaten. What to they put in it? I haven’t figured it out.

Albasha

ETA: frick just missed it

My wife and I love Lebanese food and eat there or get takeout pretty regularly. I've probably had 100+ meals at Albasha and can't recall ever having a bad one.

Zorbas is really good too.

Forgot Roberto’s! They’re awesome, but a bit of a drive for me.

Solid....

I just realized Wayfare shut down.....any reason why? Whats the deal? I used to know the owner pretty well but he's a cheesball so I kinda kept my distance.

I’ve never ordered anything from Walk Ons that I regretted eating.

I've been three times, ordering something different every time, and I've yet to have a good meal from there. Things I've ordered:

1. Buffalo chicken wrap - could barely finish half of it.

2. Black Jack chicken sandwich - This thing was just a mess. Piece of chicken dwarfed the bun, which made it difficult to eat and caused melted cheese to slide off the sandwich. And the caramelized onions weren't caramelized.

3. Cheeseburger - This was the best of the 3, but I could get a better and cheaper burger at Wendy's.

I ate a couple of fried shrimps from the wife's po boy and holy sodium in the breading.

You must be joking, I have been there twice and both times the food was so poor, the wait staff was incredibly rude to me, the atmosphere was uncomfortable, and I’m pretty sure they did not want my custom just because I was white.

Yeah, our only experience there wasn't great either. We just go down the road to Willie's or the Chimes.

Ancora is one of my favorite places.

But seeing the owner/chef hold fundraisers for Take em Down Nola and in support of ANTIFA and the like...

I don't know that I can support Ancora, La Boca or High Hat. Its one thing to post shite on your social media all of the time (like a lot of the carpetbagger places like Marjie's and T&tW do), but to hold active fundraisers at your restaurants for Take Em Down Nola?

I don't know. That makes me pretty conflicted.
