I am taking a group of college students to New Orleans for an event and we need a reasonably priced lunch spot within walking distance of the Casino or Superdome area. I have my favorites but most are $$$.

In no particular order, all near or on Poydras.
Pythian Market (food court with a bar plus a bit of everything, from Indian to Poke bowls, pizza and fried chicken) - we often end up there before Saints games that start late
Trenasse (half poboy and bowl of soup for $14 is solid)
Grand Isle (ate there last night - better than I remember)
Singha
Tsunami
Viet Orleans
Reginelli's
Domenica
Juan's Flying Burrito
Johnny Sanchez
Serios (if you want to give Mike some bidness)

Grand Isle is wildly underrated.
With that said, you're gonna pay no matter where you go downtown.
GW Fins
Cafe Maspero
Cochon

Neyow’s is great, but it doesn’t really fit OP’s request of walking distance from the CBD

Felipe's was my go to spot in college.

Casino and Superdome are pretty big difference if you are walking. Walk-Ons is always good and reasonable if by the Dome for College crowd.

Leni’s. Good, hearty plate lunches at a good price.

Are those the same people as Daisy Mae's on Poydras? That was recommended in another place and honestly it looks like what we are looking for.

I don’t think so, but now I want to eat at Daisy Mae’s.
ETA Yep. Same people. Website
