It amazes me, that foods describe boudin as gourmet . All it is , is rice, chicken liver and Cheyenne pepper.
Now boudin with an adequate amount of pig blood like it used to be is something else

Do yourself a huge favor and stop at Ronnies on Fla Blvd. Their smoked boudin is the best in the state. Much better than best stop. Try it yourself and you won't be traveling to Scott I can promise you that.
Lol

The best stop smoked pepper jack sausage is great on the grill.

I’m so glad stores in BR started carrying it, we eat it fairly often.
I once had someone tell me smoked boudin is not really boudin, but this is coming from the same person that dusts crawfish.

Rouses sells their stuff. I’ve bought their smoked boudin, then andouille and green onion smoked sausage for gumbos recently.

Anybody buying Boudin on Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge instead of from a hole in the wall in Lafayette or Acadia parish has no idea what the hell they are talking about.
Yeah, well, obviously, you've never tried Ronnies. It's damn good.

For pepperjack boudin balls and crawfish pies, Billy's is hard to beat. Kartchner's for links.
Any Heleaux's fans here? It's a haul from I-10, but I think their link boudin is excellent.

I’m pretty sure Ronnie ran over my dog and didn’t stop.

Stop at all of them. They're all good and slightly different. I find Best Stop has the most liver which I like.

Ronnie's boudin is good as is their hog head cheese.

No you dont.....
Stay on Hwy 90, have lunch at Spahrs in Des Allemands.
Stop at Bourgeois in Schriever.
Take Hwy 90 through Morgan City all the way to I-10 West and go to Scott and get your Boudin.
