A homemade biscuit or a pull apart style bbq bread loaf. Butter for both of course.

Nope.

It's one of 3 options which have all been mentioned.

Cornbread
French bread
Bunny bread

my favorite way is the put the cornbread batter on a griddle and make a cornbread “pancake” the same diameter as the bowl

serve red beans and rice in the bowl, put the cornbread pancake on top and then eat through it

Went with toasted french bread with garlic and butter, it was great. Thanks for the input.

I've been toying with the idea of getting a waffle iron and making cornbread waffles for chili and RB&R and other things.

I think you'll be happy with the results. I've made waffles with dressing leftover from Thanksgiving meals and they're fantastic.

I prefer some "Hot Water" cornbread. To me, it's a great compliment to RB&R.

We made red beans and rice tonight and heated up some Texas toast with it. It was great.

When I was a student and didn't know how to cook, a favorite meal was Blue Runner (canned) Red Beans, with some sausage added, and a loaf of that grocery-store garlic bread that comes in the foil bag.

I'd heat the bread in the oven and eat the whole damned, buttery loaf.

A big can of Blue Runner red beans and a regular can of Margaret Holmes red beans and rice, plus some browned Conecuh smoked sausage makes a quick and pretty decent RB&R.

Cornbread is good. I really like the buttery crusty roll that the Chimes serves with theirs.
