Sorry to hear this.
I worked with James a few years back, before BBQ became his career. Took a business trip with him, the poor lady that sat next to him had to hear about BBQ for the hour long flight.
Got on a shuttle at the airport, and as we neared the hotel, James started asking the shuttle driver about BBQ in the area. Driver offered to take us to a hole in the wall joint, and James chewed the counter guy's ear off for an hour there...I had to drag him out: "Let's go, Brah...this man wants to close up shop!"
But I have to say...there are very few guys in the game that are more dedicated to the craft than James. Some guys are good at it, but aren't as passionate about it. James is the rare combination of talented, and he LOVES it as well.

I’m back at the hospital for visit # 2!
Since I’ve been here, he has eaten lunch, spoken with the drs and nurses, took his meds, and was actually able to take a very quick shower.
That all wore him out pretty good!
He’s resting now, but he agreed to take a quick pic to let everyone know he’s doing much better.
As far as his condition, not much has changed since this morning. I will continue to update everyone.
Hearing the nurse say that he’s a miracle case, and how close he was to not making it, is really eye opening. She said most people who arrived in his condition had a different outcome. It’s unfortunate that she has experienced that more than she’d like to admit.
I can’t imagine the ending being any different than where we are now.
Please keep him in your prayers.
Although he has improved, he is nowhere near a full recovery.
