Co-worker's sister works for managing company of several Popeye's in North Louisiana and Mississippi. Says they have stores averaging $5,000-6,000 in sales per day that are doing $9,000-10,000 in sales as a result of the chicken sandwich.

so if a store is making an additional 5k a day how many chicken sandwiches are they selling per hour, per day etc.

No idea and I'm sure they're selling other products too as a result of people stopping in for the chicken sandwich.

you realize they were already selling the sandwich in a lot of places? How does one manage what equates to a $23 mil marketing blitz without even knowing its coming

If a customer orders a CFA or Popeye's chicken sandwich there are three things in common on each sandwich.
1. The bun. Popeye's is a runaway winner.
2. The chicken. Popeye's is bigger, jucier and crunchier.
3. The pickles. Popeye's is another runaway winner.
Cheese, lettuce or tomato aren't worth talking about.

Maybe I’m weird but I don’t like my chicken sandwich dressed like a hamburger. Just pickles is good for me.

I caved last night and decided to try one of these sandwiches. I got in line and it took 45 minutes to finally get to the window and get my order. When I saw the line, I figured it must be for the sandwich. By the time I got order, I talked myself into ordering a classic and spicy version. You guys aren't kidding. I was very surprised these were so plump. I was impressed Popeyes didn't skimp. The chicken was extremely moist and tender. I liked both a lot. I'm not from Lousiana so I dont eat spice like most of you guys. However I would have actually liked a little more spice on the spicy version. It was delicious though. I'll definitely be getting more. I'm afraid the company will need to retrain their employees though. They aren't used to the constant pace that Chikfila has. If they can get that figured out, they'll have a winner. I fear it will be a difficult pace for them to keep up. At least the Popeyes in my part of MS.

This is the funniest tweet on the Chic-Fil-A site. Amid the accusations of racism and homophobia, this guy complained that that he requested no pickles 6x and they screwed it up.

Something about cheese just does not work on a chicken sandwich.

Maybe so but to me it’s not apples to apples. And hey if you don’t like it dressed then Popeyes is the way to go. I do think the bun is better at Popeyes. But it’s not getting me to wait in line for that shite.
