With a chicken sandwich costing $3.99 I wonder if the profit margins are higher or lower than the standard average meal ordered at Popeyes prior to the sandwich launch.
As I said, the price should be going up soon with the fanatical following

Popeyes on Government is on their shite. Line is out the door but it was moving fast.
Girl on register told me they hired someone just to make sandwiches.

went to gonzales popeyes earlier
they have a trailer parked outside, no truck, just for storage
whats questionable is I saw some popeyes employees in a pickup truck, presumably from another store, loading boxes of food in the back and leaving
that can't be following food safety protocol

i mean if they're just going across town i dont see the big deal. the 18 wheelers used to stack up boxes of yogurt in the parking lot when i worked at TCBY and it was up to us $3.35/hr workers to bring them inside and stack them in the freezers. half the time we were busy and we'd bring it inside and it would sit in the back room until we had time to organize the freezers and stack the new boxes inside.

My last 2 attempts to get sandwich failed.

Went to Popeyes for lunch. Got there around 11:30. Drive thru was about 10 cars deep but only a few people inside. I ordered a spicy and red beans. After waiting about 10 minutes the line was out the door and I noticed the 1 person they had working the register looked pretty overwhelmed. I showed him my order and he put it all together right then and gave me my food.
After the first bite of my sandwich, a cook announced to everyone in line that they are sold out of the sandwiches. People were not happy. When I left, the drive thru line was spilling into the road.
As far as the sandwich goes, this may have been the best yet. Asked for extra sauce and pickles and they delivered. I put some of the red beans and rice on it and it was pretty damn good.

Y’all need to hit up the Boutte location. They’re slinging chicken sandwiches like they’re a bunch of Chic Fil A alumni. Honorable mention to the crew in Avondale, also a very well run spot.

Jones Creek Popeyes has a maximum of 2 or 3 patrons at any given time during the day usually. Lunch today had the line out into the road waiting for delicious PSCSs

We all should have invested last week

Marketing ploy or incompetence?
Popeyes had to know they had a "Hit" on their hands through the test markets. They then proceed to expand the availability without properly supplying expected demand.
I'm leaning toward incompetence. Watched 5 customers walk away after reading the "out of chicken sandwich" notice and then because of some people staying...THEY RUN OUT OF WINGS AND TENDERS! This not how to run a business.
Or is this some "Tickle me Elmo" kind of scam.

Checking in from Huntsville, AL: Cars were parked in the grass, drive thru line was into the road causing a traffic jam, pure chaos. Will have to go to the one on base, surely it's not as crowded.

Finally tried this sandwich yesterday. It's a good chicken sandwich for sure. Much better than any other fast food chicken sandwich.
I don't really get all of the hype though. It's still just a chicken sandwich.

Maybe they knew they had a hit on their hands but what really took it to another level was social media. I have not seen not one Popeyes ad on this sandwich, it’s ALL social media.

They could never have predicted this kind of demand.

Well it has to be somewhat incompetence in that they didn't even supply all their national stores with sandwiches in the first place. Some in Dallas had the sandwich, some didn't. How can you have 2 stores within 10 miles of each other and one has it but the other doesn't?
And dallas is somewhat close to LA at least

No doubt. You give them way too much credit to say they somehow planned this.
About an hour ago, I drove by the Popeyes on Veterans in Metairie (east of Bonnebel) and the drive through line was out to Veterans and 5 deep down the road.
People are fcking stupid.

Maybe not all of them were supposed to have it at first
Either way, no way Popeyes could have predicted this. The one I went to today told me they had to hire someone just to make sandwiches.
