While I believe what you're saying is true, whole chickens have gone up also. I routinely grill a whole chicken on weekends to eat grilled, skinless, moist chicken in various ways throughout the week. I probably do this every other week. The price of whole chickens has gone up by $1.50 - $2.00 everywhere. While that doesn't seem like much, it's about 20%-30% from where was for the last 2 years.

It’s called inflation. Everything gets more expensive when the cost of fuel goes up. Trucks bring everything. Being a truck driver isn’t a desirable career so we have to pay them more money to stay in trucks. It also costs more money for labor in the hatcheries, feed lots, and kill plants.
It’s not pluckers fault that it costs more for chicken. Are you expecting them to cover the cost increase themselves and not pass it along to the consumer?

Say they used to do 1,000 chickens a day. And 600 of them were cut into pieces. Now, they are only doing 300 chickens a day total. They don’t have enough workers to do more.
You see Biden’s administration dropping off bus loads of illegals at bus stations like in downtown BR. Why don’t they drop them off outside a Tyson plant? For real.

For someone that supposedly buys whole chickens so often, you'd think you'd recognize that the price of them has always fluctuated. I only buy them when they are under $1.00/lb, and i'll buy 3 or 4 of them. I bought 2 of them yesterday, .89/lb. If you don't like the price increase, then don't buy it. Either some other idiot that doesn't pay attention to how much things cost will buy them, or the price will come back down to reality. This isn't some new thing that's happening right now. It's always happened.

I didn't vote for Sleepy Joe, although I haven't the slightest clue what you are insinuating here. I don't remember prices skyrocketing or there being this many shortages during DT's first term.

Don't give two shits about the upvotes. I get downvoted pretty frequently on this website. I, however, like shaming people who complain about rising prices and shortages yet voted for the president that is a major factor in those inflated prices and lack of materials. In one of the larger brand’s chicken processing plant I visited, they separate their workers by country of origin based on who gets along with who.
One group works in one area, has their own break room, and takes breaks at their own scheduled time. For example, the Salvadorans work in the packing room, have their own break room, and take a break at 9:00. The Nicaraguans work on the kill floor, have their own break room, and take a break at 10:00.

I've read a bit on shortage of wings specifically due to sharply increased demand coming from increased take out orders. Wings are one of the most common take out items apparently, and several restaurants opened wing only ghost kitchens (there's 4 or 5 on my door dash right now). I have seen no noticeable increase in chicken prices where I'm at. Like another poster said, whole chickens frequently below $1/lb
