Right, it's my fault you didn't follow a conversation.
Everyone else gave an opinion about which is better except you. You just white knighted for the PCB when there is a clear winner to the OP's question.

[quote]I'd bet the 5% of people that have anything negative to say about the PBC are all you with different usernames.
Are you wearing a tinfoil hat right now?
You don't have to answer that.

OP, its comes down to this:
1. If you want to learn how to tinker with smoking time and temperatures in order to have slightly different outcomes with your meats, get the Weber. It will produce great BBQ once you know what you are doing and gives you far more smoking versatility
2. If you don’t have the time or don’t want the effort of having to watch temps and time, get the PBC. It is still fun to sit around and drink beer and it will produce great BBQ immediately no matter your level.
3. If you are a complete douche that thinks you are an excellent smoker, one that is above noN traditional smokers, however you truly don’t know what you are doing but you want to try and swing a big dick online and to your friends that secretly don’t like you, get a Weber and serve them shitty dry BBQ.

No, I just wouldn't be surprised since it's such a minority opinion.

PBC guys are always so sensitive.
(1) A PBC is extremely easy to operate for backyard cooking and a fast cook with high capacity, but it is direct heat and you are very limited in adjustments that you can make in the process.
(2) If you are looking to seriously get into BBQ, a traditional smoker (WSM, UDS) will allow you to make more adjustments and put out better BBQ in the long term. There there will be a learning curve, but this can be tempered a bit with a temp controller.
(3) If you are looking for maximum convenience and versatility, a pellet smoker is a great option that offers control while also being foolproof from a temperature control perspective.

Your buddy said it's disgusting and you have no taste for bbq if you like it. Which one of us is sensitive again?

I bought a PBC a month ago and have smoked chicken and salmon on it with great results

I'm going home to throw my PBC away. It ruined my taste in BBQ.

Thank y’all for the info but more importantly the laughs. I never realized people were so passionate about their cooking vessels.

Or I sound like someone that doesn't have a stick up my arse and thinks food can only be made well with one method. Either way.

Sounds like a trashy bbq place.
I get good quality south carolina bbq at Maurice's here in Columbia.

Please tell me this thread started on the OT.

I don't own nor have I cooked on either one but if those were my options I'd probably go with the WSM because of its versatility. Nothing against the PBC, but you're a little more limited on ways you can use it without modifications.
My sister is giving me their new 22" WSM because she says BIL doesn't like fooling with the wood (wtf?...lol). Looking forward to putting it in my rotation.

Welcome to every thread where lnchbox or 87 participate.
To answer OP: I’d get a Weber kettle if you want what you buy to double as a traditional grill.
