I’ve done this. My mom and wife both make them.

Probably my favorite pie.

Mine too. My SO makes them occasionally. The 16 year old and I devour them.

I am seriously regretting that we are not friends. Those have looked delicious all 3 years

It is one of my favorite pies.

Thanks for the recipe. I made 2 pies - one with graham cracker crust and one with Oreo crust.

Both very good!

I have a house full of teenage grand kids. This looks perfect for amping them up, and sending them home with a sugar high!

Annual bump.

I'm about to embark on this journey for the first time.

My question: what's the best way to serve? Straight out of the freezer (frozen?), after it sat overnight in the fridge?

We never freeze ours, only refrigerate. I'm sure either way is fine.

I make Sirdrinksalot’s recipe for every function I go to. It’s awesome. My 6 year loves it. It’s always a hit at my little church I go to. I chuckle every time someone asks for the recipe. Well…there is this website called tigerdroppings…a person named sirdrinkslot posted this recipe. Bon appetit!

Thanks.

In the OP I saw the quote below and was scratching my head a bit as to how to serve.

quote:

Garnished and ready for the freezer

Ill stick with the fridge method when I kick it off later this week.

Funny you bumped this today. This was a text to my wife earlier today:

We always serve it straight out of the freezer, but would be fine overnight in fridge I’m sure, just more “gooey”

Interesting. Yea, I was thinking the ingredients would yield a freezable product to eat directly. I may go this way after all.

My recipe is very similar
But uses 1 cup of peanut butter and no condensed milk

I top with a chocolate ganache
Enough for 2 pies
* Topping:
* 1/3 c. cocoa
* 1 c. sugar
* 1/4 c. milk
* 1 stick (1/2 c.) butter (or margarine)
* 1 tsp. vanilla?

6. Bring cocoa, milk, and sugar to a full rolling boil; boil about 1 minute, stirring very frequently. Remove from heat and cool one minute. Add butter and vanilla; stir until butter is melted. Immediately pour over pies and put in freezer

Yeah, I know I am messy

Why use such down market ingredients? JIF? Whipped Topping?

What's wrong with JIF?

Use what you like, but it’s a cheap dessert that goes in the freezer.

Added sugar and nasty seed oils (+ "mono and diglycerides"). I get we were stupid when we were kids, but real peanut butter is available now - ingredients: peanuts (+ salt, if you want it).

I thought the F&D board was more highfalutin. The ingredients shown in the OP look like EBT gone wrong.
