The 4 packs are $15.
I don't think I would call $11 a 6 pack a steal for Envie, and especially not Canebreak.

I'm not going to get fully into all the ins and outs of it, but there's a lot of apples and oranges comparisons going on here.
The Trilliums, Treehouses, Alchemists of the world can legally sell every single drop of beer that they make directly to consumers from their brewery taprooms. A brewery like Trillium self distributes to some bars around Boston.
Parish cannot legally do that. As a Louisiana brewery, they can only sell 10% of production directly to consumers. The other 90% must be sold to a distributor to be sold at on or off premise retail establishments.
How do you think the profit margin of that 90% compares to the profit margin on that 10%? Then compare the profit margin on a beer jam packed with hops to something like Canebrake.
There's your difference. Or differences.
Parish is doing a pretty damn good job at running their business within the framework of what Louisiana laws allow while continuing to grow and profit.

And that's very true. And yet...what was the last release they sold out before 4XDH?

4XDH was a 5 barrel batch, so again, apples and oranges.
Trying to remember what the last brewery only release was. Bloom and DDH Envie from GRD? They've since released batches of each that were distributed.

You would think, but I actually don't think that's the case. It sells out, but it takes like a week. And as B has pointed out, the volumes are significantly lesser than the top-tier hoppy brewers.

I found Reve to be terrible; at least the bottles I got recently; undrinkable even.

I just really don't understand why LA has these rules (I don't know much about the intricacies of the three tier system though). From afar, seems like a good ol baws rule of making sure the man gets his hands in erryones pockets

They sold out of the last Bloom release within a day or 2 (at least the for sale at the brewery alotment). They were releasing a new batch of bloom and Reve. Bloom sold out around 4. Luckily i brought my 4 packs to the car before they sold out.

Have you ever seen the Champagne distributor's car collection at the Madisonville location?!?!? It's fricking insane. The distributors' would lose all that money if they let the breweries sell directly.
