We ended up at The Fin & The fork on a locals suggestion. Food was really good, I got the whole fried snapper and really enjoyed it

I thought the atmosphere was good with the live music and my kids loved the large pond wrapping around the building with the giant turtles to feed

My only problem was they struggled with the large crowd. Food was slow and out of order; kids plates, which we ordered immediately, came after the app’s.. my wife’s soup never arrived. Waitress had no personality and seemed frustrated and overwhelmed.

Was a tad on the pricey side but acceptable given the amount and quality of food. I’ll be back

West Indies salad

What's that?

1 lb Jumbo lump
1 small white onion diced
2-3 TBSP white or rice vinegar
2-3 TBSP salad oil
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup ice cold water

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. toss gently and serve on a cracker or just eat out of the bowl.

We tried Voyagers inside the Perdido Beach resort last week, and it was excellent. White table cloth, steaks and seafood, great view, and they take reservations. I had the wagyu hanging tender topped with crab and it was hands down the best steak I’ve had in a long time. It’s in a league with Fishers upstairs and Big Fish, and might surpass them in my opinion. It’s pricey, but worth it for the right occasion.

Love picking up Lartigue’s for a meal at the condo.Cash only if it hasn’t been mentioned, although they have an ATM inside.

We went to the Gulf for the first time and I was impressed. Kind of a funky set up with the two different menus and a separate bar area but the food and views made up for it.

We also love Fishers downstairs for a casual lunch spot. This time, I got the pimento cheese burger and black eyed pea salad as a side.

I think we went to Cobalt for the final time this trip. It’s a great piece of property, but the food and staff are so uninspiring. Our waitress disappeared after taking our order, so we went to the bar to order more beers, the bartender said she would send them to our table, and gosh that waitress didn’t like that! Came back and put the beers on the table in silence and didn’t take an empty bottles. ?? it was a 1 o’clock lunch on a Friday too....not crowded at all.

Re-upping this thread since I talked Fisher's Upstairs up earlier in this thread. We ate there earlier this week, and it was one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a while. The whole table was pretty underwhelmed with everything the table ordered. Hard to call it an off night when every app and entree was just kinda okay. Not sure we'll be back.

We almost went to Playa instead, and all wished we had as we were leaving.

Holy shite, Jesse's was beyond good!!!

We had:
Brie w/pecan sauce
Crab toast
Shrimp n grits
Mac n cheese w/ grilled chicken
Whiskey ribeye w/ grits and romain wedge
Filet Mignon w/ risotto

Even the Mac n Cheese off the kid's menu was amazing. It was orzo pasta with a Gouda cheese.

That menu, oh my. Might be able to swing a visit.

Tin Top looks delicious, but so much is market price, that's what you get for the very freshest ingredients. Tough to plan for, though.

We hit up King Neptune tonight.

It was serviceable - nothing bad - but nothing that is going to knock your socks off. Good fried, steamed seafood....

...and if your crew is hungry, then this is your spot. Portions are good.

We hit up The Yard a few days ago - I thought it was a waste of time and money but the kids and Mrs. KTG were happy.

We got a supreme banana split from Matt’s last night. It was legit.

Big Mike’s was a pleasant surprise - first time there for us - filet was good. Skip the oyster appetizer though.

Going to close it out tomorrow night at Tin Top. We will catch Jesse’s Labor Day weekend.
