I contacted Jambo. In his words, it was just too much. His catering and real estate businesses are consuming most of his time. He is leasing the building.

I hope the cracklins reappear at some point.

This.
Thanks for the love Baton Rouge.
I'll find an awesome concept to go in there. I fell in love with that building and bought it as an investment. It's a fully equipped, turn key restaurant up for lease. Win Win.
For a long time, it's been work non stop. Going 2 months without a day off isn't something I want to keep doing.
Thank yall again for crushing so much food!

I'd like to do more charity work, give back, feel good kinda stuff. I want to cook and feed people. If you guys need anything, you know where to find me.

Bump… where can I get similar cracklings? I tried Ronnie’s and Boudin Shak but they are a lot harder, fine for me and the kids but my 90 mom doesn’t like them that tough.

Bumping this one again.

I see it often in passing and it's just sitting vacant. Did the owner possibly open elsewhere?

I saw that, but then the thread died and the place is still vacant. I was just hoping maybe there was a new place in a new location with same quality that I had not heard of yet.

I guess not.

I wish they would have made it. I ate there quite a few times. THe thing I found lacking was the variety of plate lunch items and kind of limited other menu items. Everything was GREAT though and dem cracklins were OUTSTANDING!.

Looked them up on facebook. There’s one in New Roads. If it’s the same people, their pictures look decent enough. I wish them luck.

Doesn't look like anything to write home about. The "fried fish poboy" is just that. Doesn't sound like catfish which is a strike for me.
