Anyone know what’s up? I went by yesterday and today for some cracklin and lunch but it looks closed.

He posted online he was going to close for a few days because his employees needed a break. Whatever that means

Yeah, I saw that but noticed the letters from the sign are gone. I really hope he opens back up. I enjoyed the food.

I passed by yesterday at lunchtime and saw they were closed, just figured they weren't open on Mondays.

Really, they seem to always be busy at lunch.

He stated on this board that Opies was a crawfish place and they weren’t focused on lunch. I wish he would have.

I tried to go last week and there was a sign on the door that said they were closed 10/25 thru 10/27 for employee vacation. Haven't been by since.

Cut pork belly thin

Cover in some type of bbq rub

Smoke them

Lightly fry.

Not a cracklin. But a solid bite of food

I drove thru last week and there was a paper sign on the doors saying they were closed between two set dates for employee time off.

It was OK.. went a few times.... If I were Opie, I would have it set up like Bergeron's, have 2 or 3 things a day and just do them well and fresh, should make the plates 10$ even and overfill them, then if he can build some traction go up to 12 or 13.

Wasn't exactly the best location
They would be better off finding a gas station to operate out of

The cracklins were really good

The one time I went and picked order up thru drive thru they forgot to give me the cracklins, I had to go back.
They were nice about it though and she gave me extra for the inconvenience.

Should be an easy way to raise prices too, as apparently being in that location means you can mark up your product 40-50% above the local competition

I would bet my next paycheck Jambo didn't put that much work in the place to shut it down so fast. Dude's got a plan...

There’s a for lease sign next to the building. A damn shame because they have the best pastalaya and jambalaya in town and it’s not even close.
