What has been your experience with these..is it worth it?

I gave mine away about 10 years ago after using it a cpl times. I fry in oil, it’s comes out better and how I want my fried Turkey to be like. I’d just use an oven over that imo.

It will give you a rotisserie style turkey. Crispy skin with the fat draining away to a pan below. I thought mine did a good job. If you flavor it it will be good.

It's been very much worth it for me. So much easier, faster, and very little clean-up afterwards. The best part is that is tastes just as good as a fried turkey in oil. Also, it doesn't dry out the turkey like baking in the oven does.

Agreed 100%. If you brine it in a salt/sugar brine it comes out incredible and with little mess. You don't have to buy the oil and deal w/ all of the clean up.

Definitely worth it. Cooks a good bird. This Thanksgiving I have a family member that doesn't tolerate oil due to gall bladder issues. I'm doing one turkey in it and frying a couple in oil. Will compare side by side.

My father in law raved about it and bought one. Then he hooked it up next to the regular frying for Thanksgiving and did one of each. The regular fried bird with peanut oil was way better. The other wasn’t bad, but it ain’t the same.

My family likes the oil less turkey much better.
On my end, I don't have to deal with 5 gallons of oil so it makes cleanup easier.
Still get crispy skin, juicy bird.

I have fried many in my set-up that used peanut oil and my brother-in-law has the oil-less fryer.
The biggest difference to me is the amount of time needed to finish the bird. In oil, I can fry a 13 lb. turkey in 45 minutes since I cook them for 3 1/2 minutes a lb.
The oil-less fryer takes between 8-10 minutes per pound, so if it is done in 8 minutes, you're talking 1 hr. 44 minutes, and if it takes 10 minutes a lb. then you're talking about 2 hrs. 10 minutes.

I have the old Charbroil version.
It`s not the same as a fried, but it comes out close to the skin of a fried if you put some olive oil on the outside of the bird and season it up.
You don`t have to cook just turkeys in it either, there are plenty of attachments if you wanted to try other things and there is plenty of videos and info on the net on how to cook ribs, roasts or tons of other things. I have used one to cook turkeys for over 10 years and it has done its job very well.

It doesn’t come out close. It’s pretty much a rotisserie bird.
If you want a fried turkey, fry a turkey. The “oil-less” just doesn’t taste the same, they aren’t bad and some are great, just not fried turkey.

I prefer them over fried. But I’m not a huge fried Turkey fan. And as mentioned, it does a great job on pork roasts and other things.
That said I haven’t used mine since I started smoking turkeys on my Weber a couple years ago.
