Should be opening in the next couple of weeks. Talked to the owner Friday and they are getting close.

Does the owner have relationships w any other local places?

Story?

Just really hope its decent mex and not like most all of the other mediocre places in the BR area.

Its close to my hacienda, so if its good we will be there often.

Owner used to own Athenos in Prairieville and I think Casa Maria in Gonzales off 61.

Looks like a classier place than most strip mall Mexican restaurants

He was an owner at Casa Maria in Gonzales. It's also close to my house so I will be eating there a good bit.

Soooo.... Does he know what he's doing or doesn't he?

Way too close for me not to try... But I wouldn't hesitate to roll right by it on the way to agave blue... I enjoy the lingua tacos there.

I would consider him somewhat successful in the restaurant industry. Some may like it and some may not. All I know is I took the dude to lunch a few weeks ago and he's fricking awesome! Had me rolling the whole time.

They've been teasing the strip for years. Then as soon as I sell my house in Azalea Lakes, they finally make progress on it.

Let me get this straight....

He had a Greek/Leb/Medit place n Prarieville that closed. He and his partner had a Messican place in Gonzales.... They split up and his partner is openin a Messican place in a building previously housing a Messican place while he opens a Messican place in the strip center on Old Jeff/HST?

I hope its good, but that track record isnt.

That's why I said somewhat successful. Plenty of people have opened restaurants that have been well liked and closed to open another or left because of a bad partnership. I could fill a whole page of restaurant owners who have had restaurants open and close in BR. Some are like and some are not.

Best of luck on his new endeavor. BR is littered with Tex mex cuisine.

He does and told me but I can't remember. Pretty sure there is a Nail Salon going in

And that's no joke.

Obviously the flood put a damper on progress here... but I noticed some workers today in one of the other suites. Any ideer what the status on the messican joint is?
