WWL TV just reported that Restaurant Brands International, which owns Burger King, is bidding to buy Popeye's.
Update - done deal at $1.8 billion.

That sounds awful. Burger King is probably the most horribly run fast food company in existence.

Popeyes always had terrible service. Now the chicken will get worse and the service even worse if possible

Popeye's will continue to be independently run even after the buyout. If anyone can ruin that chicken though, it's Burger King.

I gave up on popeyes years ago. The pieces are small very greasy and give me the trots. The red beans taste strong of the liquid smoke The dirty rice aint dirty enough and par boiled. I could go on but ya get the picture. Now when I want fried chicken I either fry it my self or look for a krispy krunchy chicken sign like at pop n go's

If you can get it fresh, Albertsons has some great fried chicken, and once a month or so, they have 8 piece mixed for $5. I think it's $5.99 every Monday.

A few years ago, Burger King bought out Tim Horton's, a Canadian based restaurant chain, for the sole purpose of moving its operations to another country to avoid paying BILLIONS in U.S. taxes. I haven't eaten BK since then, and I am now adding Popeye's to that list. I love that chicken from Popeye's. And the mashed taters. And the biscuits. And the red beans.

Did you say Popeyes is greasy, but you'll seek out Krispy Krunchy? I like their chicken, but it's about the greasiest chicken I've ever eaten.
