Mandinas is great, and one of my all around favorites, however: Italian makes up only a small part of their menu, and so I feel it's hard to classify it as an Italian restaurant

I personally think that Adolphos is over rated.
It is super small. Cash only and almost everything is covered in their Ocean sauce.
Some people love ocean sauce, but it was too much for me.

Vincent's and Italian Barrel are both good. Rumor has it that Robert DeNiro tried to get the owner of the Italian Barrel to open a restaurant for him in NYC.
I've heard Irene's and Mariza are good from people who have eaten there. They are high on the list of places to try for my wife and I.

It's good for Italian if you like mushy/gummy angel hair pasta.
They are in real need for quality control in that area and to possibly consider using something other than angel hair with everything they serve.

Take the10 min drive to mid city and go to Venezias. Best Italian imo.

Any of them will offer great wines. I’m certainly not an expert, but I would think Marcellos would have the “best” list.
