We have a new Priest coming to our parish soon and I understand he drinks the occasional Rye. Would like to surprise him with a decent bottle.

I know nothing about this - I am sure Sixth And Barone will chime in.

Can you make a rec of a name and where to buy.

Thanks in advance.

I am not a connoisseur of rye; the only time I drink it is when I have a sazerac, but Sazerac brand rye works just fine for me.

Rare Breed Rye, the Rouses here in Lafayette typically has it in the case. It's the best bang for your buck rye (~$60).

I’m no expert but I’ve bought a few bottles of Whistle Pig over the years and really enjoyed it.

There are lots of good ryes out there. Rittenhouse Rye is my house rye. It is hard to beat for the price.

Sagamore spirit has some outstanding variants and whistle pig is a solid bottle with a nice presentation.

Willett rye. The bottle and its contents are great. You've received some good suggestions though. And not that it matters, but given the audience, I'll mention I gave up rye for Lent. It was painful.
