French Market Bistro.

Passed by it for years but finally ate there. Was hit and miss. Some things were very good and others were not. Service was spotty too.

It’s called Little India in the Shell station on the same block as Bottega on Highkand Ave. Eight of us ordered every noodle dish, every fried rice and the first five entrees. All good. Ate something that was hot as hell. Dishes seemed much more Chinese than Indian. But all good. Take out only. Call ahead.

What did you end up getting?

Think Bordeaux was my last new restaurant. I guess I had takeout from Barracuda today if that counts.

La Pines in Slidell. Good, but a little expensive for lunch.

We eat there pretty regularly. It's a pretty good lunch spot. I usually get their Cobb salad.

We ate at Nan's in Mandeville today. It was really good. I got the fried catfish and wife got the roast beef poboy.

Friday we tried the snowball/ice cream place connect with Nan's and it was damn good.

Great spot for kids.

Great experience sitting outside in this awesome weather. Great wine selection, started off with a couple of glasses of Riesling that paired well the tuna app folllowed by The budget bottle of CDR—I got the flank steak which was really tasty. The wife got the rotisserie chicken, plenty leftover for lunch today. Splurged with a 20 year Port for dessert. We’re going back Friday night and I plan on getting whole fish and some old vine white.

Great price points for the portions you get and lots of French wine to choose from if that’s your thing.

Lit pizza

Good but I have to put it in another category because it’s good but it won’t cure my hankering for a real pizza
