Yep. They're becoming almost as ubiquitous as Vietnamese joints.

Not highly rated, but Oceana is the worst place I was ever forced to go to. Will absolutely never eat there, again.

Interesting thread.

I will say commanders is my favorite place in the city. Not sure why it is getting so much hate on here.

To me brigtsens is the most over rated. I can walk from there to four or five better places.

Class resentment?

Rohan- as to Smashburger, isnt there (or wasnt there) some sort of ordinance prohibiting chain restaurants in uptown/Garden district ? That whole stretch is shite. I wouldnt be surprised to see a Raising Canes there in a few years

I agree, but Smashburger may be the best option along it -- at least in my opinion.

The Walkers are doing Charcoal. They do Something Else too. Most notable for their spice blend

But always packed. I don't have a problem with Rum House but I won't wait for it. Joey K is ok too IMO but I haven't been there in a long time. Haven't been to Gott but had a guy next to me at rendezvous eating some wings the other day and they looked and smelled awesome.

I'm not sure about those type of restrictions, nor am I sure if Smashburger is technically considered a chain.

That would be quite the embarrassment.

Gott's food is alright, but their service can be spotty and they close too damn early sometimes.

The curry chicken salad sandwich is solid. I've brought food over to RDV a couple of times from there.

Seems to be popular during football games.

Has far as smashburger goes I've been to the one here once, but the one in Houston many times. The one in Houston is better. The one here is kind of ghetto.

When I went I got the smallest burger they have (the "regular?") and it was more than enough burger for me .. didn't even eat the fries .. I was stuffed. Can't fathom how people can go in there and spend $15 on their biggest burger, fries and a drink and not need to be rolled home in a wheel barrel. Besides, it didn't even taste very good; slightly better than Wendy's for double the price.

I thought Deanies was pretty overrated when I visited Nola. It was good, but it was more about the quantity than the quality of the food that made it memorable.

I hear the one outside the Quarter is better though.
