Please share the most interesting, fun, delicious, unique etc menu items you have seen at a wedding reception. A friend of mine and I were talking about this the other day and I am curious to see what we can come up with.

Midnight wedding (NYE) the reception had an omelette station and a waffle station. Both had loads of ingredients for one to add and were an absolute hit. Had standard reception fare as well, but I have not been to reception before or since that had those.

when i was a kid we had the most amazing petit fors (sp?) that were just small blocks in baby green, yellow and pink fondant.

freaking amazing. whenever i was forced to attend a wedding (and my mom always helped at church weddings so this was like every month) i would sneak around and tear those things up.

the petitfors that publix has are a sad temu version of these delicious cakes.

no decoration whatsoever..just stacked up mounds of these things.

It's been a minute since I've been to a wedding, but the different stations always seem to be a hit. We've been to ones with a Taco Bar (outdoor reception), a mashed potato/baked potato bar, and the omelet stations.

One of the best things I experienced was as the reception ended, they handed out to-go bags w/ sliders and parm truffle fries. Those really hit the spot at the end of the night after an open bar

Also, a wedding in Philly had a station of pretty much unlimited Philly-style soft pretzels.

Sir fry station was another one along these lines I've seen and enjoyed.

A burger bar at the end of the reception around midnight.

Same wedding had a 7 tier cake with each tier being a completely different type of cake. Not totally original, but it's awesome to have a couple of different cakes.

Lucky Dog Cart. A Lucky Dog on your way out of a wedding just hits right.

Definitely cheeseburgers or some guilty fast food pleasure for the ones that are hammered.

Friends had a mac and cheese bar where you filled a martini glass with mac, had two different cheese blend options, and a toppings area. Needless to say I crushed it with gruyere, bacon bits and chives.

The fanciest wedding I ever attended was outside and had multiple food stations. My favorite was the oyster bar.

Fanciest wedding I’ve ever been to. Hor dourves were calamari and boom boom shrimp. The spread had sliced beef tenderloin, crab claws, shrimp, a guy outside chargrilling oysters. There were several other things that I can’t remember.

I met my future wife at a wedding reception. She was on both knees eating 8" boudin links using both her hands.

I fell in love.

Forgot this one but we had conch fritters at a South Florida wedding. I devoured those too.
