Goddamn..I hope you are just having fun.

But I have a feeling that a few of you cats need to get you balls out of your throat or out of your wives purses and live a fricking little.

If your shite can be RUINED by the location of a damn condiment...you are way to far from any semblence of manhood to be saved.

Such irony that I should be snacking on these when I come across this thread....

It may make me a food simpleton and a sushi harlot but I mix my wasabi and soy sauce depending on the sushi I get. And I like rolls, depending on where I get them/who makes them.

I think wasabi and soy sauce flavoring on almonds is pretty darn good, but mixing the two when eating sushi offends my sensibilities for the Japanese.

BTW, if we were eating together and you decided to put your wasabi in the soy sauce, I wouldn't say anything.

I don't use anything when I eat sushi.

No dipping and I never, ever eat rolls. Sashimi or nigri only.

Then you have never, ever eaten sushi FWIW

ETA: Whoops.

Nigri is a form of sushi. My mistake.

But sashimi isn't.

I too eat mostly nigiri (sake, maguro, hamachi) but I like rolls too. I know that many say that the old fish ends up in rolls. No doubt it is easy to mask less than fresh fish in a roll, but the rolls I order usually have shashimi on top of them. I like the different flavors and textures of these rolls.

I'm with you

I like some of the rolls as well

I love how people act like they're somehow above everyone else because they don't eat the rolls and they're some sashimi and nigiri purists.

It's pretty pathetic

Wasabi and soy sauce are not supposed to be mixed.

You see, I never knew this.

I guess someone pulled my leg somewhere along the way.

The folks that introduced me to sushi told me that mixing the two was how it was supposed to be eaten, how it is eaten in Japan, and the chefs regard you in similar disdain if you don't have it together as chefs who see folks put steak sauce on a good steak.

Good, I would hate to have to throat chop you at the dinner table.

And this chef must totally offend your Japanese sensibilities.
