If you like it, then put it on.
I don't see why people care what other people think when it comes to what you want to eat. If it taste good to you, then thats all that should freakin matter.

Hot dog + mustard or hot dog + grilled onion + hot sauce for me.

Good cole slaw can make for a good hot dog too, and good cole slaw can have its share of mayo.

Mayo sounds gross. To each his own I guess. I like Hebrew Nationals grilled with creole mustard and boar's head kraut. As a tribute to my Carolina roots I will also make a spicy chili (no beans, tomatos) and top with the finely minced cole slaw from Chick Fil-A. Not everyones cup of tea but I get that craving a couple of times a year.

There is no way mayo on a hotdog can taste good.

Ketchup and mustard only, preferably yellow. Shredded cheese and diced onions are a must also. chili, I could take it or leave it.

Mayo on a slightly charred hot-dog - yes!
Only had ketchup on them in Austria from streetcart in the 80's - they didn't even ask, just fixed 'em that way. No thanx on that.

mayo, mustard, onion, salt and pepper.
Occasionally cheese and good chili.
Ketchup only crosses my lips on homemade meatloaf sandwich or scrapple.

Why ruin good scrapple with ketchup?
If you like mayo on your dogs, go for it.
I like chili, cheese, onions, a good mustard, relish, peppers, tomoato, etc. Anything but ketchup.
