I have recently moved away from Baton Rouge for business and am without my beloved Mary Lee’s hot glazed donuts.

Would someone be so kind to share the Mary Lee’s donut recipe? If not the Mary Lee’s exact proprietary recipe, a similar one would be greatly appreciated.

I’m starting to shake after only 3 weeks without any and would like to make my own.

You’re going to make your own donuts? Seems like a hassle

You have craptastic taste in donuts if you can’t find better than Mary Lee’s where ever you are. And Food Board.

Mary Lees is similar to McKenzies in that the nostalgia fricks with your taste buds. Neither were or are very good donuts.

It’s early, but this is in the running for fattest post of 2020.

Wouldn’t it be better to post where you are and ask for suggestions?

Mary Lee is fantastic, but I am confident that unless you live in BFE, you can find good enough nearby to not frick with making your own donuts.

Good thought, but I’ve tried all donut shops within a reasonable radius of my location. I am no scrub.

Mary Lee’s are not my favorite donut. Jay’s Donuts (no longer around) were my favorite donuts. Regardless, a recipe or similar would be appreciated.

Apologies for not finding the food and drink forum.

No way you can honestly tell me a hot, fresh ML glazed with a cup of coffee is not 'very good.' Plz point us in the direction to 'very good donuts' please.

I can eat an unlimited amount of their hot glazed donuts. I have to not go there for my own good.

I’ve never understood the battles over who has the best donut. As long as they are hot and fresh then they all taste about the same to me. I’m just talking about glazed, maybe the specialty donuts separate the good from the bad?

People from Thibodaux and Houma will fight over a Rob's vs Mr. Ronnie's donut discussion.
