I haven't made a lot of margaritas, so looking for a good recipe for my kids 21st birthday. They want Chik-Fil-A for dinner, because, I don't know why. But we're making margs for 5/5 to go with the sandwiches.

I want a mix because that will be easier for them in the future.

Tres Agaves

Best mix ever. Less sugar and mostly real ingredients. Makes a perfect margarita!

juice 4-6 limes, 2 lemons, 1 orange then how ever much juice that gives you add 1/2 that volume simple syrup

that and tequila is all you need

my wife made me one the other day and added some of this and it was honestly one of the best margs i've had.

surprisingly not very sweet at all; just really smooth.

i'll try to find out what else she put in it.

Not sure if this is regional, but here in Austin you can find this at Target:

It's been my go-to for a while now.

Don't over complicate this. Get Jose Cuervo Marg mix, a $20 bottle of any silver(clear) tequila, and fresh limes.

The kid is 21 and probably doesn't have a cultured palate for fine margs yet. This will be better than the cheap crap at most bars anyway. Don't be stingy with the fresh lime juice in each glass.

This is the correct answer if you are looking for a mix

Before this lockdown started, we helped some friends throw an engagement party and we made a bunch of margaritas using the Tres Agaves mix with Hornitos Plata tequila and the margs were a hit. Supposedly a few people just assumed they were catered from Superior.

i bought a lime tree several years ago at home depot JUST FOR MARGS but i can't grow it outdoors in TN so it lives in front of one of our big picture windows.

this year that fricker had like 25 good looking 'lime buds' on it and i walked into the room the other day to find them all on the ground

my 5yo apparently thought the tiny green eggs were cute and plucked them.

This is very close to what I do. I go 3-2-1 as it's easy to remember (tequila-lime juice-cointreau).

Never use margarita mix

Tequila (blanco or reposado)
Fresh lime juice
Orange Curacao/Cointreau
Agave Nectar

That's it

Hmm. I bought that mix the other day and thought it was inedibly sweet. Do they make more than one? Maybe I bought the wrong one.

I think it's just the one?

The recipe on the bottle calls for 1.5:1 mix:tequila, so I felt they had enough tequila to not be overly sweet

I agree with everyone saying to make them from scratch! They are so much better that's the only way I'll drink a marg now.

Babish can walk you through the process with a vid he relased today:
