not in my top several by any means tho.

just because they advertise with buddy...and because buddy used to eat a lot of sausage....necessarily means their stuff is great.

I think it is one of the better mass produced types, not in the same playing field as small batch home smoked types that you get at little country stores

Same thoughts here, espcially when its onsale cheap , its suficent for a mass cooked Jamabalaya.

However

Savoies > Richards > Manda's

I have no problem slicing it up with rice and some seasoning in a rice cooker. Thumbs up here.

Nay. Too much local sausage made here in the St. Amant area to buy that stuff. I call it bologna sausage.

With all the great smoked or fresh sausage sold at local meat markets why would you buy that crap!

What would you suggest? I bought some "store-made" sausage at Whole Foods that ISTR had "Texas" in its name, and it was utterly inedible, one of the worst things ever. It's scared me off trying their other couple dozen varieties, and I was really disappointed, as I love Whole Foods pizza, BBQ, etc. At least with name brand supermarket sausage, if you find one that's decent, it's widely available and pretty consistent in quality.

Manda is absolutely perfect for me. When I cook it, it's in mass quantities. The big box is relatively inexpensive, and it tastes just fine. Feeding a bunch of drunks at your tailgate with 4 pm sausage dogs does not require "micro-sausages." Just make sure it's hot throughout and has enough bbq sauce to counteract the salt. Throw on a bun with mustard, and you are good to go.

This has replaced Savoies and Richards as my commercial sausage. I won't buy anything Manda.
