Legacy Kitchen at 759 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie is set to close and cease operations on 11/27. The restaurant said in a Facebook post that this will not affect other locations under the Legacy banner in Orleans Parish and Gretna.

Before Legacy opened this as the first Legacy location in 2013 the building was home to Shoney’s. Legacy conducted a major renovation transforming the building into a higher-end dining concept. There is no word yet on a replacement tenant for this location.

Place seemed over priced for the area, and the food was always underwhelming IMO.

We considered going, but never did because of the prices.

Shoney’s was better than that pretentious place. The prices were set for upscale dining and the food was not. I can’t believe it stayed open for this long.

Least surprising thing I have heard in a while.

Went for a dinner meeting 2 months back and it was empty. Food was not good.

Place was not bad. Today’s issues in the restaurant industry in my opinion is the rent. Rent is so expensive these days that it drives prices through the roof. Not sure what can survive that location.

I visited twice and really enjoyed the food. It was a little pricey for lunch but good. Too bad.

Prices were the same as a nice night out in the city, with all the ambiance of the veterans strip.
Not priced right for the food.

Overpriced for sure but I really liked a lot of their lunch options, especially the buffalo chicken salad which was probably my favorite salad in the city.

Agree. My wife and I went for lunch last month and spent $60 on lunch.

Aren’t these the people who murdered the N’Tinis in Mandeville?

This!
I found this to be the most overpriced place in Metairie. I appreciated that they had a good cocktail menu early on and I used to stop some for drinks, but it just wasn't worth the money when we dined there.

Yes. McGoey filed for Chapter 7 recently. Surprised this announcement took as long as it did, and I'm dubious of the claim that it won't effect other locations.
