Leftovers...How long will you keep

leftovers and/or how many days in a row will you eat leftovers. I'm on my 4th straight day with RBR and I had jambalaya at least 4 times last week.

Depends on what I am eating. I went like 4-5 straight days with the butterbeans and shrimp I made. But I live by myself and I don't like to cook that often.

I don't usually go past a week. For cooked seafood leftovers, I don't usually go past 5 days.
Back in college, I had some leftover fried shrimp in a fridge one time for two or three weeks. My drunk out of town friend came home and ate them. He didn't die or get sick. I wouldn't recommend that though.

I guess I have no set time, but I'm more conservative than most with how many days I'll keep something. Restaurant leftovers only get kept a couple days. If I haven't eaten it within 2 days, I take that as a sign I'll probably never eat it. I foolishly take home stuff that doesn't save well sometimes, and ultimately it gets thrown out for that reason.
Food that is prepared in larger batches by default like gumbo, stew, etc. gets ~2-4 servings put into the fridge and the rest gets frozen for later.
I almost never batch cook something large and eat on it for days at a time. Not unless it was something I specifically made for that reason, like a batch of something low cal to take for work lunches so I don't have to fuss with planning.
It isn't so much that I'm concerned about the food itself (I know it's fine for like 5 days), but I don't like to eat the same thing over and over for the most part.

I'm with you, LL. Two days tops for me. I have some sort of (admittedly irrational) aversion to leftovers.

It depends on the dish but usually after 2 days, I wont touch it.
I grew up poor as shite and was taught to not waste food but I just can't eat most leftovers past a day or so.

I'll keep something for at least a week before I even think of throwing it out. As far as making a big pot of something and eating it over and over, I can't make it beyond Tuesday or Wednesday eating leftovers of something I cooked over the weekend. Generally, I freeze a portion of it the day I make it to defrost and eat later. But I frequently make a lot of something on Sunday and eat on it through midweek. Tonight will be day #3 of smoked chicken and ribs and made for the super bowl.

Until it's gone if it was good. My wife not even the next day. So we don't eat leftovers all that often which results in huge amounts of food waste considering my toddlers won't eat anything besides chicken nuggets and PBJs
Sunday is my fridge clean out day. All tupperware items get tossed on Sundays

Would you please have a chat with my wife? lol
On a good note, I have negotiated that she only gets one shelf in the refrigerator for leftover storage.

7 day rule, unless it starts to look different or smell different before then. Trust your nose.

A week to 10 days for most items. Unless they smell bad, they’re good to eat.

As long as it takes my wife to find and throw away after some artful hiding.

The 7 day rule is that you’ve kept the food five days longer than you should have.
