Going to be Lafayette this weekend with some down time. Where should I go? Open to all types of food.

If tomorrow, get a poboy and some seafood gumbo from Chris's.

LA Crawfish Time on Verot if you want some boiled crawfish.
Poseidon's is pretty good Mediterranean/Greek.
Johnson's Boucaniere for a grilled cheese sandwich stuffed with boudin & pulled pork.
Riverside Inn in Broussard.

I will be heading down there for the weekend myself. I love Pops Poboys. Blanchards BBQ has good brisket. Lots of really good options. Try the Rusted Rooster for breakfast.

Dine in is now open again at Bread & Circus. Had a fantastic dinner there last night, service was a bit slow because they only had one waiter on staff, but the food was great. It's Italian restaurant with great Neapolitan pizza.

As mentioned in here already, Pop's has terrific poboys (I prefer their non-traditional).

Blanchard's has really good BBQ, it's only open for lunch 10-2 (or until they sell out).

Social has the best bar selection in the city (reasonably priced rare bourbons), but the food isn't mind blowing. Their small plates and flat breads aren't bad though.

Scratch Farm Kitchen is also a solid breakfast/lunch option. It's a super fresh farm to table option that has a menu that varies daily based upon what they have.

Spoonbill is another good dinner option, New American/Fusion.

If you're looking for atmosphere, I would suggest Cafe Vermilionville (Upscale Cajun/Creole), or Pamplona (Spanish Tapas).

Bon Temps Grill on Pinhook. Another Broken Egg for breakfast. Shade Tree Inn (Broussard) is the real deal if you're gonna be in town Friday evening from 5-9pm. Pampalona is very solid. If you crave sushi and don't want to spend $50+ for 3-4 rolls, Sushi Masa offers AYCE from 11:00-2:30. Not the best sushi (7.5/10) in Laffy but for less than $20 it's a bargain.

Pamplona is great.

If you want something more casual - Pete’s is good. Which is next door to Social - which is not too bad.

Id stop and get some boudin from a couple different places an d maybe a few boudin balls. If you not opposed to going to Breaux Bridge go get you a plate lunch from Poches. While you in there pick up some Dreasing Mix to bring home.

Do lunch at Johnsons Boucaniere, Noah's Cafe, or Laura's.

Breakfast/brunch at the French Press.

Have a nice dinner at Cafe Vermilionville, Jane's French Cuisine or Social.

Sandwiches at Pop's Poboys or Market Eatz.

Hawk's will be boiling crawfish at Acadiana Superette tonight and tomorrow night. Find Hawk's Boil Up on facebook for more info.

Well worth the drive. Friday's turtle sauce piquant from Suire's Grocery south of Kaplan is also well worth the drive.

He ain’t lying. Quite possibly my favorite brunch spot.

OP come on out to Scott and hit up Uncle Ts Oyster house. Then, make a boudin run.

Market Eatz is solid, I'd also recommend Hideaway on Lee as well for a good casual spot.

We live close to Market Eatz and it is really dang good. Can't go wrong with the single burger, chicken BLT, or short rib sandwich.

You'll get good food at all of the places mentioned above though.

If you want the best fried seafood po-boy in the world, then take the short drive to Maurice and hit up the Villager Café. Get ya a half oyster half shrimp.

It's hard to beat Olde Tyme's Half & Half (oyster/shrimp), think I'll get one tonight.
