Krispy Krunchy and Albersons's are both made with Extended Shelf Life chicken, which is why they are too salty and rubbery.

Can't stand the amazon size pieces of chicken. They're not as tender. I have a caterer I use quite often who makes the very best fried chicken like your grandmother used to make. She uses small chickens that she cuts herself. She even fries up the backbones which are delicious. She'll make me fried chicken when she's making it for a job and deliver it.
I went to a new chicken place in my area recently and the chicken breasts were the size of whole chicken almost. The wings were like a large breast. Never going there again.

Yep. Bigger birds are tougher. Chicken distributors try and push big chicken to its vendors. But places that do respectable fried chicken and not your convenience store 20 piece for $10 type chicken always opt for the smaller bird. It fries up better.
Damn mouth breathers have to get the biggest everything when it comes to food. It's gross. Chill out and enjoy the good stuff

Not true. You do realize that a Cornish X chicken averages a pound of gain per week on the for it's life span... up to about 9 weeks, right? Your typical "larger" bird is not tougher. It's just larger. I grew some out to 2 months a couple of years back... Jesus, talk about Teenage Mutant Ninja Chickens. But they were tender as the day is long.
KK is good chicken. Better deal than Popeye's for sure. I tend to agree w/ those that say Brother's is the best. They earn a spot w/ me just because they have livers, and I can get them to lightly fry them for me on demand.
