Blackstone Griddle, really a patio item but I use it at least once, sometimes twice a week.

In the kitchen, a recent purchase is a salad/lettuce spinner, it really makes a difference in how your salads come out. They not all soggy.

Mortar and Pestle

Every time I need one of these, I make a note to get it. Then when I remember to shop for one, I'm like "I'll never use that shite". Then the time comes again I need it. It is a repeating cycle.

For me - I waited way too long to get a microplane and a citrus squeezer. Trying to zest a lemon without a fine microplane is a PITA, and my hands just don't get juice out of the lemon like the little squeeze thing does.

I use it for mostly Asian applications, grinding ginger garlic and chili for ginger fish sauce, and also for grinding toasted sesame seeds for gomae.

It works extremely well. Drop the unpeeled clove in squeeze and the peel stays in the press.

Kitchen tongs. I didn't have any for years. Now I have several.

Same. Also, I just recently acquired a full-sized collandar/strainer. Always just used the lid to drain things but got tired of burning my hands periodically.

Victorinox Metal Slotted Fish Spatula

I use this for everything. It is incredible at separating food from the cast iron skillet while retaining the crust. I cannot believe how much better this works than a plastic spatula.

Also sturdy enough to flip heavy items (burgers, steaks) but flexible enough to get under delicate items (white flaky fish) without breaking them apart.

I second the mandoline and the Victorinix turner. Had a mortar and pestle, but lost it somewhere and had never used it.

Careful with the mandolin. A buddy nearly lost his thumb to one last spring. Gruesome.

Digital Kitchen Scale.

I use it every day (baking bread, measuring coffee)

This thread reminded me I need a microplane. Just one-clicked Amazon.

Toaster oven. I use it daily just to heat things up. Beats the microwave. Great in the summer so I don't have to turn on the big oven and make the house hot.

I use both all the time. I have about 4 different microplanes and use them all for different things, frequently. I especially like the small one for zesting.

Agree on the citrus juicer, too, although I figured out I was using it backwards after some time of having it. It worked anyway, though. Just works better the right way.

I just had to Google whether I’ve been doing it right, and apparently I have but I really would’ve guessed either way would work

There's nothing like freshly ground nutmeg in a pumpkin soup or over squash. That's my second favorite use for a microplane behind citrus zest.
