King Cakes, IMHO, are highly over rated

I understand the season demands king cakes but really are any of them worth standing in line for? They fried ones might as well be doughnuts. The baked ones are sort of stuffed cake.

I would not drive across town for any single rendition let alone stand in line like some of these folks do.

Had a Randazzos cake come into the office today. It really is nothing special. This is basically a large cinnamon roll.

one of the funniest comments i've seen here was something like "enjoy your 40 dollar cinnamon roll"

I don't understand why all the communist hate King Cake and Mardi Gras. Very odd.

since you want to bring such irrelevant post to thread perhaps you can tell us why you have not gotten a job in the US making the babies for king cakes given the huge tariffs that are probably on king cake babies.

Communists always aim to destroy tradition. Eliminate what ties us together, then divide the people along new lines

A good, fresh king cake is really good.

An average, stale king cake is really bad.

Thats just how it is

I was coming to post this. Cinnamon rolls are delicious. Good king cakes taste like good cinnamon rolls. What's not to like?

Now, I'm with you if someone brings in a dry king cake with only granulated sugar on top. Not a fan of that style at all.

most are just meh, and a few are worth driving out of your way for

very few are really good

its just like donuts, it all depends on who makes them and what ingredients they use and how fresh they are but at the end of the day its a big cinnamon roll with filing

True, but it’s a fun seasonal thing and it’s pretty unique to the area. You miss it when you move away. I don’t go stand in long lines for them either even though it’s harder or more expensive for me to get one up here in Tenn.
