A good frame of reference is Yellow Rose is $10.35 for a 32 oz. growler fill (at Growler's in Houston)
Hell, Parish charges $13 for 48 oz. (bottles)
All aside, point being is that $10 for a pint is stupid and exactly why I haven't been to PH in 6ish months and none going forward. I remember before I knew any better, I paid $15 for a pint of KBS there last year
However, they will still float their keg because most people around here (especially ones that Ghost is a new revelation to them) don't have a frame of reference.

Do they even offer smaller pours?
It really makes no sense to charge $10+ for a draft beer. Drop the pour size down to 10 oz and charge $6.

This this is what I was thinking throughout this thread. To me prices should be between $4 and $7 but the sizes based on BVA/style of beer should vary.

Southern Prohibition brews up a great IPA called Crowd Control. Had it on tap at CBD then found one 4-pack in Leblancs. We finally have a Ghost competitor from the region. IMO, it is better than Ghost

You're not going to find many that will agree with that opinion.
Also, Jax, if you look you can still find two week old Ghost on shelves. Either supply is increasing, hype is diminishing, likely some of both, but the price is, more or less, the price. I can see it coming down, but that day is not soon.

So an 8% IPA doesn't compete with another 8% IPA, instead it competes with two 5.5% pale ales?
That's not how it works.
The guy likes crowd control better than ghost. Good for him. I like Southern Tier Live better than Envie, and if I could find it fresh year round, I'd never buy a bottle of Envie.
The way this board rips people apart for liking other beers more than certain ones is funny, I must say. I don't recall it being like this a couple years back.

Which is why I said the above in my post...
I'm going strictly off of taste--Commotion tastes more like an imperial IPA to me anyway (albeit not as boozy for obvious reasons)

I loved CC last year. I don't know if my tastes are changing or if the beer has changed, but I think both Ghost and Envie are far juicier than CC this year.. which is what I've come to really look for in an IPA. The 4-packs of CC at my house right this moment are perfectly drinkable, but definitely have some malt flavor.
Like I said, it might just be my tastes changing. I liked Commotion better than Envie last year, and now I much prefer Envie (although Commotion is far from bad).

This is exactly how I feel. CC drinks bigger than Ghost. It's not crushable. It's still really good, but Ghost is on another level.
