You are awesome Lester Earl. The list was just the beginning. And besides, aren't all food critics just regular people? And if you enjoy it, it's not a waste of time.

Yeah Zombie, you need to not post when you're OTR.

Ultimately, it's just food after all. Getting into makes you look unprofessional.

Yeah, but if he aspires for this to turn into more than just a tigerdroppings deal for him, it is not a good idea to get into arguments about different restaurants, etc

we've had a few restaurant owners post on here that should have taken your advice as well .. a few have made real asses of themselves and haven't helped their own businesses ..

i am awesome...

but its one thing to be a critic, its another thing to think your opinion matters more than another when in fact you are just a normal person who happened to start a list on a website. Thats all.

Dude, have you seen the site? A lot more on there than just a top 25 list. There is also a lot more that will be debuting soon, but I promised chicken I wouldn't pimp my site and I'm sticking to that agreement.

A food critic is a regular person. I have a career and do this as a hobby. It's something I've always wanted to do. My opinion doesn't really matter but I can tell and show people places to eat that they may never have heard of.

Like the award winning Italian dressing at the chimes. Lulz

why the hate Lester?

Each location is owned by different people.

Yes, but they are now independently owned, with the most recent being in Mandeville.

I'm just the opposite. I really enjoy TJ Ribs. Granted, it might not be BBQ, but to my knowledge, neither is VooDoo.

Let's please stop this 'BEST' shite. If you want to rate a place, rate it on consistency. Can they serve you top quality service, food, and atmosphere every frickin time. If not, then they are not the 'BEST'. Just average. Maybe we should make a poll on the Best Magazine in town. I bet 225 would lose.

The F&D Board...what did we do before we had it as far as discussing food and restaurants? Please don't tell me we went to the OT.

No doubt. The only thing I think that is close is Wayne's BBQ in Livingston, LA. I've never eater there and I have read mixed reviews on it.

If you and 225 are saying that Juban's, Mansur's, and Parrain's aren't seafood restaurants, but Louisiana Lagniappe is, you are basically saying that a Tangerine, Satsuma and a Lemon isn't a citrus but an Orange is.

Over half of Juban's, Mansur's, and Parrain's menu are seafood based, whether they use cajun spices or not, it's still a seafood restaurant. I know for a fact that Mansur's actually has a MUCH larger fish selection than Louisiana Lagniappe, carrying sometimes up to 8 or 9 different kinds of fresh fish daily, along with Maine lobster. If because they don't serve platters of fried seafood makes them not be a seafood restaurant, then yes, it wouldn't be a seafood restaurant.

Juban's is the same way. Much of it's menu is seafood-based. So, because they offer a steak selection, it's not a seafood restaurant? So, then what is it's classification?

Cajun food is predominantly seafood-based, therefore a restaurant that serves "cajun food", along with a list of other fish/shrimp/crab selections would be a seafood restaurant. Parrain's would be considered a seafood restaurant if this is true.

WTF does 225 know about food? They were PROUD that they got 2750 responses... Further reading the excerpt at the front of the survey, they said they had a list of some 90,000 emails and only sent out 8,000 surveys. 90,000 would be a closer survey of the population. If they weren't so f*cking lazy, they might actually get a good response.

Only one I could even grasp my head around.

I can see Juban's as best overall restaurant in Baton Rouge. It is easily top 5 in food, consistency, & service, and probably #1 in atmosphere. Add all this up, I can see it as top restaurant.
