re: Wow- Thor was Bad arse.

I just got back from seeing Thor in 3D. The 3D effects didn't really add much to the movie (or detract, for that matter), but I thought it was a great flick and lots of fun. It had great casting and some subtle humor to boot.

re: Tripe - what ya got?

I only eat tripe in pho... no idea how to cook it, but it's fun to eat.

re: Mac games.. FPS type

Steam is available for the Mac. A good bet would be to download and install Steam, and see what FPS are available there. TF2/Portal/HL2 are all there.

Best story mode game to play?
Fallout 3

+10
Get the Game of the Year edition. There are hours upon hours of things to do in this game. Just remember to save every 10 minutes, as it does crash (at least it does on my PS3).

I'm a recent SLM convert. I prefer it every time now!

If you're looking for HOT as FRICK Asian food, I had the Spicy Basil Noodles ( I think that's the right name) at Duang Tawan (Sherwood Forest). I asked for it "one notch below Thai hot." I ate it, and it was like getting slapped in the face with every bite. :wah: The noodles soaked up all of the chili oils - I mean, the dish didn't LOOK particularly hot (no sign of redness or pepper seeds) but OH MY GOD IT HURT!

Try it if you want something different, or if you are looking to relieve any sinus pressure you are experiencing.
It seems that it doesn't matter how good your food is, if the service and management is piss poor, you will eventually fail.
However, if the food is terrible to mediocre, but the service and management is decent, you might just do well. Just look at how crowded Chili's, Olive Garden, etc are every weekend. :wah:

I often find myself playing:
Swords and Poker
Angry Birds
Field Runners
Tap Sudoku
and Words with Friends

I bet it would make for some delicious White Russians!
I'm partial to WAKA House, but I also like Koto and Ichiban.

re: Pho Quynh on Florida Blvd

Posted by SirCthulhu on 3/2/10 at 2:16 pm to
Pho Quynh, with it's vast menu, has really good food, except for their spring rolls, which are average or worse. If Lily (or Lillian?) is working, great service.

Little Saigon has much better spring rolls, but generally bad service. I prefer Pho Quynh, especially if it's a group of us going.

Regardless, I find the Pho at both restaurants to be pretty solid!

Yeah, it didn't go downhill after MW2, it went off a cliff. :wah:
The MechAssault game for the original Xbox was the only other game in the family I've enjoyed since then.

Do you remember when MW2 meant...

Posted by SirCthulhu on 2/8/10 at 9:57 pm
MechWarrior 2? God, I loved that game! I bought a Voodoo 3d card just to play it!
Ah, the good old days. :violin:
Fallout 3 GOTY Ed. is currently consuming all my free time, but Demon's Souls is a blast too, just so damn difficult!
Uncharted 2 - it's a PS3 exclusive and it's a blast.

re: Best Cold Weather Alcoholic Drink

My cold weather drink of choice?
I suggest:
Uncharted 1
Uncharted 2
Borderlands (FPS + RPG)
Fallout 3 GOTY edition (RPG + FPS)
Demon's Souls (brutally hard but rewarding RPG)
Little Big Planet (platform)
Dragon Age: Origins (RPG)
Valkyria Chronicles (War RPG)
Assassin's Creed 2

Good games to pick up cheap:
Pure (ATV Racing)
Bioshock (FPS + RPG)
Oblivion (FPRPG)
Soul Calibur 4 (fighting)
Dark Sector (sci-fi FPS)

EDIT: Forgot to include inFamous! That's was fun too.
Just jumped on this sale IN THE STORE yesterday... Picked up Uncharted 2, Borderlands, and Fallout 3 GOTY Ed. Yay! I'm set for the next year or so now...

It's called "Latte e Miele" I think... Open 10 AM to 10 PM too, if I remember right. Haven't been in over a month, but it's DELICIOUS!
