I don’t need a large one. Family of 4. Sometimes cook for larger but not often. Want wifi capabilities. Want to be able to get up to 500 degrees to do my steaks the way I cook them. Can’t decide if I want one with an open bottom or enclosed (pros/cons?). Second rack included or add on is needed. Can’t think of much else.

With that info, which would you go with? Tia

If by pellet you mean stick burning, you will be in for some great food and great times.

Just about ready to pull the trigger on a RecTec 700 myself. It's the GOAT from all that I've seen.

I love my rectec... I got the 590, but the 700 would be a great choice as well

Camp chef Woodwind 24 with sidekick. A perfect setup.

I have a Rectec 340 and can't say enough good things. Very efficient on the pellets and plenty big enough for a family of four. It will fit a 16lb packer brisket and absolutely crush it.

I bought a rec tec bull few months ago. Love it! Just wife, me and daughter. Larger size is great though for parties etc. Can't beat their customer service. Thing is just so consistent and just awesome.

I was checking into a RecTec when I needed to replace my GMG Daniel Boone, but decided against it due I could not have a rotisserie. Once you cook with a rotisserie you will want to all the time. The RecTec was not tall enough.

The perfect pellet smoker depends on your budget also. They range from $500 to $3,000. I bought my GMG DB for $400 five years ago. They now run close to $1,000.

If cost isn't important look at Yoder.

What do the Rectecs run?

I want one or something similar but I currently dont have a yard. Keep trying to nudge my brother towards it since thats where we eat and grill on weekends. I may just get one and leave it at his house until he moves.

This is the one I'm eyeing that's small and fit for my patio: RT-B380 It's just me and my cat so it's big enough for me and when friends come over. It's $400 and only stays in stock for a week or two.

Do you have a pic with something on it? I cant really tell how big it is with no context.

I’ve got the RecTec 590. Plenty of grill for my family of four (two small kids), plus my parents, who eat with us once every week or two. The 590 is, I think, $900 if you don’t buy the competition cart to go with it. No complaints from me. Maintains temps within 2° either way of set temp. Before i bought, I had it narrowed down to RT or GMG. I haven’t regretting spending the extra $200-300 on the RT. Either way, do plenty of research and buy what you are comfortable with.

If cost isn’t important look at the MAK 2 General.

I’d buy the Rec Tec 700 and order some sear grates off the internet. That thing is built like a tank.

I like the Camp Chef with the sear box on the side but a good set of custom sized sear grates eliminate the need for a sear box.

If you are on a budget Z Grills give you a lot of bang for the buck.

I’ve cooked on all of them though and the Rec Tec 700 seems like the best mid priced one in the lower $1,000 range.

I just pulled the trigger on a RecTeq 590, purchased sear grates and cover. I have been researching for a while as well, family of 4.
