I don't recall this discussed on the FB. Has anyone tried the "Jambalaya Girl" box jambalaya mix. If so, please give an opinion. It's available at all local grocer stores and Sams.

Their gumbo is good for a box mix as well

Gumbo is really good for a box. I like the Jam but the wife doesn’t.

Definitely one of the better premade mixes out there.

It’s in the best group. Maybe not necessarily THE best.

I give Oak Grove the nod.

Jam Girl is good but it is a toss up for us between it and Kary's.

I normally use Oak Grove but was given some of the Jambalaya Girl mix and liked it. Juicier and more herbal than the Oak Grove. Wife did not like it, but she does not like jambalaya anyway. Will likely go back to Oak Grove but it was a nice change.

Do you doctor the Oak Grove up? If yes, how?

Oak Grove is my first choice. Rouses was out the other day so I gave CajunLand a try and it was very good. I doctor up box jambalaya up adding trinity (cooked down of course), double the meat, and use chicken stock instead of water.

Cajun Fry is our go to jambalaya mix. Not in stores here, so we order online.

I don’t think the box has anything to do with how the texture comes out to make it juicier. That’s all in how you cook it.
