Got the one in BR to go 2 months ago to be different. It wasn't very good, King's Wok is cheaper and better.

The bar area at many of these chains seems to be a bit .. off. My guess is they don't really get bar business like local joints do, and I can't figure out why.
I have never once thought about going and sitting at the bar at a PF Chang's.
Feels like typocal chain restaurant bars are going to get most of their business from people traveling (especially for work) so being close proximity to hotels is key.
That Chili's off of College probably does good bar business with all the hotels nearby.

That's what I thought I'd see too, but didn't seem to be the case there. The aforementioned Mansur's always has men in there solo that seem to be on business, however.
Admittedly, I've been to PF Chang's bar maybe twice in my entire life.

Maybe not.. certainly not places I'd think about.

I guess they just attract a different demographic
i never have, nor will i ever, understand why mass chain restaurants
are/were loved so much in America.
"Hi, would you like marginally better fast food, but without the convenience? Dont worry we will charge you just as much as the local eatery a few blocks away. Come right on in!".

PF Changs is fine. Went there a few months ago, probably the first time in over a decade. I enjoyed the meal. Good service too and a nice place.

I’ve always enjoyed Five Happiness on Carrollton but haven’t been in awhile.

Yes, but they charge fine dining prices now. It's insane

Miss Shirleys on magazine is solid. I think that PF chang's on vets is closing
Bamboo House is where Royal China (Ms Shirley’s old spot) was in Metairie and it is very good. The Mexican across from PF Changs at Lakeside Mall, Habaneros, was surprisingly good as well.

It's interesting to watch the way chains have gone as "trendy" modern dining has really ramped up on the local level.
So true. I remember going on a date to PF Changs off of Corporate in 2005 and it was packed. I guess not much different than Chik-fil-a opening
I think the sit-down chain restaurants are going the way of big malls, dying a slow death.

It’s a nicer Panda Express. Plus tips. You’re better off with non-chain options.

2005 and it was packed
Same for Fleming’s and Bonefish Grill. Always packed. So was Champp’s (where Walk On’s is now).
Seems like 2005-2012 or so was the peak for restaurants in that shopping center.

No. We went a couple of weeks ago for the first time in several years. A shade of its former self.

A little trivia, the person who started PF Changs is the same person who started Flemings Steak House, and was raised in Louisiana. The "F" in PF stands for Fleming.

Honestly, the only things worth it on the menu are the Chicken Lettuce Wraps and the Kung Pao Chicken, to me.

I used to really like PF Changs. After not eating there in probably 5 years I decided to get some take out from there a few months ago it was absolutely terrible. Worse than any strip mall Chinese take out I've ever had...anywhere..I was pretty shocked.

Thanks for all the responses. After reading them, I think I’m going to take my family to Five Happiness next time we’re in the area.

The Chang’s Spicy Chicken used to be crispy and legit spicy asf back in the 90s at Lakeside

One and done.
Our oldest daughter wanted to go there for her birthday about 8-9 years ago.
Had reservations, didn't get seated until 45 minutes after res. time.
Another 30-45 minutes before anybody even came to get drink orders, another 15-20 to get food orders, 45 minutes later the shitty small portions of food show up, and not once during the whole experience did anyone come back to our table to refill drinks/check on us, we had to flag somebody else down to get refills.
To top it off, we had a party of 10 people so we got hit with an 18% "gratuity" right off the bat on the check.
frick PF Chang's!
Panda Express has better food and service.
Will NEVER go back.
