Potato or brioche buns will put a place above all others for me.
brioche has a high butter content (butter = oil). the last thing i want holding a burger together is an oily bun

BR is the burger capital of the world. With that said, 5 Guys is really good but like others have said, pricy... If you can get a BK Whopper that's cooked fresh and free of reverse racism, that's a delicious burger.
Jay's BBQ makes a good burger as well.

Can't. Ate it once about 10yrs ago maybe. Not impressed. Bland, average hamburger. A lot of fries. I remember that. They were decent I guess.
I mean, when I can make one at home that blows your junk away then I ain't coming back. Even tried Company Burger once. Thought it was alright but I haven't went back.
Now Grady V's? THAT'S a killer burger...

I don’t think it’s overrated. I think it’s a top notch fast food burger. I think it’s overpriced.
Last time I went it was $16 for double meat and smallest fry plus drink. That's nuts, but damn it was good.

You ate all of that?

It’s “expensive”, but that’s enough food for 2 people.

I think the In n Out craze came way before there were better options here and now that there are , nostalgia still reigns supreme from peoples travels west.
I am not a 5 guys fan either. Always found it overrated and overpriced. Have no desire to ever eat there again really.

Five guys is a great fast-food burger. It's over priced for fast food though.

Guys,
I just priced the menu:
If you get a single cheese burger, a regular fry and a drink, it’s $11 and change. Call it $13.00 with tax. Consider that a regular fry is easily splittable between 2-3 people, and we’re talking sub $10/person. I think that’s perfectly reasonable for a burger and fries that are head and shoulders above McDonalds or Burger King.
Now if you order a Double Bacon Cheeseburger, Large Fries and Large Soda, I think you also need to factor your impending case of type 2 diabetes and heart disease into the price of your meal.

I mean, if people are saying In n Out is amazing, then yeah it's overrated. In n Out is simply a very solid burger that isn't crazy expensive, is very consistent, and has really good service. It's basically the burger version of Canes. It's not going to knock your socks off, but it is solid for fast food.
I've never understood the five guys hype myself, it's a solid burger, but it's basically an In n Out quality burger but you pay 5-6 bucks more for it.
There are a ton of better sit down burger joints out here in the Phoenix area, and almost all of them are around the same price or cheaper than five guys, I've never really seen the point of going there.

Over priced? Maybe. Over rated? Nope. That award goes to In-N-Out

Eat there about once a year, have always enjoyed my meal and did not feel overcharged, but not a place I would consider eating at on a regular basis

Pretty much my feeling. It isn't in my rotation, but I'm fine with the taste and price. Although I do agree with the poster above -- it is roughly the same I'd spend at Merchant or Curbside. And those places offer beer and I like supporting a local spot.

There is some ingredient that 5 Guys uses that doesn't agree with my digestive system. I've eaten there 3 or 4 times and each time I've gotten the runs for 24 hours.

It would be better if they offered a one-person fry for cheaper. Their smallest fry is expensive and enough for 2 at minimum.
