I'm certainly not an Abita hater and drink their beers from time to time, but Jockamo and their lemon wheat are shite. I think the rest of the lineup isn't bad at all.

They just want to churn a profit like every other big corporation. They don't give a frick about good beer.

IMO, Abita Strawberry is the perfect crawfish boil beer.

It's too sweet for me to drink alone. Can have 1 maybe 2 then call it quits. Going to try it mixed with the andygator and see what happens.

Is dead bro. They finally fricking killed it. Think about that for a moment. Can you think of another beer from a brewery of that size that got discontinued? Good god that was some awful shite.

Wrought Iron is legit. I enjoy a turbo dog and an amber from time to time. I don't like andygator but I know I'm in the minority there.

I've been known to enjoy a nice Andrew Alligator in my time or two.

I haven't had a bad Abita product honestly.

I bought some sort of pecan or other Fall seasonal beer of theirs and could barely finish one. It was horrible. Maybe I got a bad batch.

Is it so much for them to have a few pet products that are world class beers, if even on much smaller scale?

Their "Abita Select" series, which are typically one off brews available for a month or two, are exactly that.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. I also really dislike their pecan harvest ale and the strawberry harvest ale.

I wish they'd brew the seersucker summer pils during crawfish season. There's nothing too special about the beer, but even though pilsner is usually a style that I'm not a fan of, seersucker just happens to be the perfect blend of crispness with JUST ENOUGH bitterness that it goes perfectly with spicy foods.

I like the taste but it's not in my top 50. But I'll say one thing about Andygator..... It'll fricking get you if you don't watch out. I've gone from fine to the floor swilling that shite.

A while ago my SO wanted to limit my drinking and she would only allow me a 6 pack each on Friday and Saturday night. Andy Gator was a lifesaver.

Andygator > rest of Abita linup. But too sweet and malty IMO. Good for crawfish boils. Good for giving you diabetes also.
