I ate at The Francis the first time last Friday night. I had no knowledge of this thread or history between the one guy that left Sammy’s to start the Francis,

I said to my friends, this place looks like a nicer version of Sammy’s back when Sammy’s used to be good. I wasn’t too far off.

I don't know much about Jason, but what I do makes him one of the most respectable people I know. One of our mutual friends was going through some heavy stuff with his family and Jason did what he could do and was a friend and gave what he could, without anything be asked or expecting anything in return.

He also slayed some prime poon from the restaurant. Which who can blame.

Seems to me that is an explanation as to circumstances. Not sure where I determined “everything will be fine” nor do I really care. I just happen to have know some circumstances for fact because Bonfanti and I go back or went back over 40 years.

But you go ahead and dance around that tree Chief.

Been going to the Highland location weekly for 25 years. The past few years have been pretty terrible as far as average food quality and service. I had been noticing the since the summer things had seemed a bit better. To go orders werent taking as long and he food was being prepared properly. Last week though was the worst. It took 45 minutes when they told us 20. The place was empty too.. Two of our meals the meat was way overcooked. Everything was cold room temperature. The shrimp had no flavor...zero. There is absolutely no consistency or quality control going on. Its a shame because when was good it was pretty damn good. A nice little neighborhood bar and grill.

It has been overrated for a long time. Very average food. Not sure why people wait an hour on the weekends for that crap.

Fact. A friend of a friend worked there forever around that time. Her and her friends certainly had some “talent”.

Pville has always been a safe bet but some friends went today & said they have a very limited menu and some things listed on the menu weren’t even available to order.

I’ve also heard from multiple people about employee checks bouncing.

When I passed on Sunday I noticed a large sign by the road

Its 60 seconds from my house and I'm lazy. They still manage not to screw up my favorite chicken club sandwich... When I try something else its a gamble... but when it good its good.

I tried to order from Prairieville location on Wednesday evening. Was told that they were not taking to-go orders. I'm sure they were busy with it being the day before Thanksgiving, but to-go orders would seem to be the easiest part of planning for a busy day. Just another odd occurrence given the other issues they seem to be experiencing.

It's pretty common for places that are slammed to not take to go orders. If you're busy and also get tons of to gos, you can never get caught up and provide service to the patrons in the restaurant. Sometimes your to gos are beyond your capacity.

We quit going to the PVille location because the quality and service was horrible the last few times we went. I won't give them another shot after multiple failed attempts.

Doesn’t bother me one bit - I’ve felt for quite a long time that Sanmy’s Is the most overrated eatery in town

Sammy's is going to fail because their service is bad and they have no quality control over a very average food menu, not because somebody called somebody else a racist.

Creole cabana will be the final death of them.

Just an atrocious investment that failed miserably.

I think Sammy was ahead of his time (or just a plain old pervert) with his staffing. When the other cheesecake restaurants expanded (Walk-ons, Happys, Twin Peaks, more Hooters) the pool of young ladies willing to objectify themselves was stretched thin, and the talent was spread overly wide (pun intended). And at one time, the food was better than decent with good service. Absolutely some of the best crawfish in a sit down setting in town.

Go to The Francis for a glimpse of what Sammys used to be.

This really isn't inaccurate. BR is a tough market for that since there are so many places doing that

When Jason left, all the experienced managers started leaving also like dominos. Kenny Carr being one of them. When a restaurant loses key management and then replaces them with kids, this is what happens.

The Oasis side of that business (volleyball) could thrive without being dragged down by the restaurant.
